Home Denver Gunnison

I went to Gunnison as a first stop with my new trailer to try out a "free" promotion I received for a RV resort complex.  I escaped the time share sales pitch unscathed before my 2 hour "time to be obnoxious" timer ran out.  The funny part is that the time share concept makes sense for the type of traveling I'll be doing and, had they let me research their proposal further, there was a good chance that I would buy in.  Too bad it was only offered "once every two years"

Gunnison itself was a quaint little town nestled in the mountains with a good sense of history.  There was a historical walking tour through the town that highlighted several buildings built in the late 19th century.  The drought had a huge affect on the nearby lakes as you can see from the Dillon Pinnacle pictures.

We made a quick stop in Crested Butte and it seems to be a very charismatic mountain town that warrants further exploration.  The pictures below are of a sculpture that greets you as you enter the town.
